In 2002, I created CommuniShare, a web-based service designed to enhance the interconnectedness (“bonding social capital”) within existing communities of various types. The initiative was generously funded by the Kopelman Foundation, and used Nonprofit Technology Resources as a fiscal sponsor. For various reasons (having less to do, I believe, with the concept itself, and more to do with my own lack of focus on running a business), it folded after about a hear and a half.
